Macbook needed some cleaning

Your Macbook or any other laptop might need some cleaning too.
A laptop with dust in it cools a lot worse than when you clean it out.

After cleaning everything, were ready to go again.

Only cleaning the dust out lowered the average heat pipe temperature about 4 degrees Celsius. Which is not a great but at least an improvement.

PSU replacing Frame brace for Original Prusa i3 MK3, honeycomb

Download STL files here.

To keep the strength and use less plastic I changed the fill to honeycomb and added two bars near the edges to prevent bending.

Made this as part of my LACK modification for “Original Prusa i3 MK3 ENCLOSURE -Ikea Lack table – Prusa Research” https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2864118

Wine and beer rack from pallet wood

Everybody likes a drink one in a while, but how nice would it be to have a place where to have your drinks including glasses stored and be able to see what you have in stock.

A nice way, a rack made out of pallet wood.

Requirements to create this:

  • Drill 3mm
  • Drilling and screwing machine
  • Screws
  • Time
  • Hammer
  • Two pallets (preferable euro pallets, EPAL)

First you have to get some pallets and remove the bottom side.

Then use the bottom side to create the shelves which will hold your bottles and glasses.

Cut out four holes for the bottles and eight U shape holes for the glasses.

In 45 degree, cut two of these holders, they are for the back of the pallet and for the wall.
This way of hanging your pallet will make it hang flat to the wall.

Screw one half to the pallet back at the top and use a bit of wood glue to make a more robust construction.

Drill holes in the wall and screw the opposite side to the wall and hang your pallet.

Now fill up your pallet with bottles and glasses, and light a candle to make it nice and cosy.

You are all set, now grab your self a wine or a beer from your own created pallet rack.

How to set the timezone in FreeBSD without the use of sysinstall

Usually you want your timezone to be set to your local time instead of the UTC time.

If you don’t know which file to use, first find them all and look around:

When you found your timezone you must copy the file to the right location to use it, you can do this with the following command:

Now when you check the current time with the command date you will notice that the zone has changed:

Since I install most servers in this timezone its faster for me to set the timezone with simply copying the zoneinfo file instead of running sysinstall.
